After successfully completing his studies in Commerce at the Vienna University of Economics and Business Administration, Mr Kittl began his professional career in 1997 with RSL COM the network provider – at a time well before the start of the great liberalisation phase in the telecommunications branch in Austria began. Here, in the Product Management Department, he supervised the company's entry into the overseas telephony market, and subsequently into the call-by-call market.
After RSL COM, Mr Kittl moved to the product management department at UPC Telekabel, today's biggest alternative subscriber landline provider in Austria. At UPC Telekabel he was particularly involved with the introduction of cable network telephony products and leased lines. He was soon appointed as head of carrier relations, where he was responsible for the leased lines, interconnection and regulation sectors.
The advent of the new, "revolutionary" UMTS mobile radio communications technology encouraged him to continue his professional career with the UMTS licence-holder 3G Mobile Telecommunications, the mobile radio communications subsidiary of Telefónica Móviles in Austria.
After 3G Mobile Telecommunications, Mr Kittl worked initially as a consultant for the introduction of mobile number portability in Austria and conducted various support activities for SBR Juconomy Consulting AG. Mr Kittl became a full member of the Vienna office of SBR Juconomy Consulting AG on 1 January 2005. He is currently responsible for the Austrian office and regional manager for the projects in Africa and in Arab countries.
