Financing Broadband Infrastructure

 On 26 May 2009 the Austrian regulatory authority (RTR) hosted a workshop regarding the financing of broadband access infrastructure. Against the background of the Austrian market situation the workshop focused the models for financing network rollout in consideration of public financial support, business case calculations, PPP models and the state aid framework. As the previous workshop held on 15 April 2009 the event addressed interested parties from network operators, service providers, the financial industry, utilities, politics, research and municipalities / public administration. Dr. Ernst-Olav Ruhle gave a presentation on an international overview on financing options and business cases for the rollout of broadband access networks.
